Privacy Policy
Published: 22 June 2026
Pedaleando Uruguay is an independent editorial project about cycle touring and leisure cycling in Uruguay. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit the site and how we use it. We collect the bare minimum.
Who we are
The site is run by the Pedaleando Uruguay editorial team. For any question about your data, write to us through our contact page.
What we collect
- Browsing data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (pages visited, device type, approximate location). This is statistical and does not identify you personally.
- Contact form. If you write to us through the form, we collect your email address and your message, for the sole purpose of replying. Delivery is handled by Resend.
- Advertising. We show ads through Google AdSense to support the project. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve the ads and, in some cases, to personalise them based on your browsing. We don't share your name or email with them.
Cookies
The site uses two kinds of cookies:
- Analytics (Google Analytics): measure, in aggregate, how the site is used.
- Advertising (Google AdSense and its partners): serve the ads, measure their performance and, in some cases, personalise them based on your browsing.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential advertising and analytics cookies, through a message you can accept, reject, or configure in detail. You can also manage, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn off Google ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings. The site will keep working.
Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent your data. We work with providers that act as data processors:
- Google Analytics — usage analytics.
- Google AdSense — advertising.
- Google Fonts — fonts loaded from Google's servers when you visit.
- Resend — delivery of contact-form messages.
- Vercel — site hosting.
Retention
We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to handle your query. Analytics data is retained in aggregate, subject to Google Analytics' own retention periods.
Your rights
Under Uruguay's Personal Data Protection Law No. 18.331, you have the right to access, rectify, update and delete your personal data. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, data-protection law in your region gives you the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise them, write to us through our contact page.
Instagram (Meta) data
The site uses the Instagram Graph API (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to read public information from the Instagram accounts of cycling-event organisers in Uruguay. The data read is public: posts (text, date and link), follower count and basic profile details (name and username). It is used only to display the events calendar. We don't store Instagram user data on our servers beyond the time needed to build the page, and we don't sell, rent or transfer it to third parties. To request deletion of any data associated with your account, write to us at hola@pedaleando.uy or through the contact page. You can also use our data deletion page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.
